How to use these worksheets

Line up the points

For adding and subtracting, the decimal points go in one straight column. Adding zeros to the end of the shorter number keeps the columns neat.

Count the places

For multiplying, ignore the points, multiply, then count the decimal places in both numbers to place the point in the answer.

Estimate first

A quick estimate catches most misplaced points: 4.8 × 0.8 is about 4, so 38.4 cannot be right.
