Part A: In order Multiply. Look for the pattern as you go.
- 5 × 1 = 5
- 5 × 2 = 10
- 5 × 3 = 15
- 5 × 4 = 20
- 5 × 5 = 25
- 5 × 6 = 30
- 5 × 7 = 35
- 5 × 8 = 40
- 5 × 9 = 45
- 5 × 10 = 50
- 5 × 11 = 55
- 5 × 12 = 60
Part B: Mixed up Multiply. The facts are out of order and some are flipped.
- 5 × 8 = 40
- 4 × 5 = 20
- 5 × 2 = 10
- 0 × 5 = 0
- 5 × 0 = 0
- 6 × 5 = 30
- 5 × 9 = 45
- 7 × 5 = 35
- 5 × 6 = 30
- 5 × 5 = 25
- 10 × 5 = 50
- 5 × 12 = 60
Part C: Missing factor Write the number that makes each fact true.
- 5 × 3 = 15
- 5 × 4 = 20
- 5 × 2 = 10
- 5 × 8 = 40
- 5 × 11 = 55
- 5 × 5 = 25
Tips for teachers and parents
- Every answer ends in 0 or 5. An even number times 5 ends in 0, and an odd number times 5 ends in 5.
- Use half of 10: 5 × 8 is half of 10 × 8, and half of 80 is 40.
- Connect to the clock. Each number on a clock face is 5 more minutes, so 5 × 9 matches the 9: 45 minutes.
- In Part C, students can count by 5s up to the product and keep track of how many counts they made.
Common mistakes
- Ending odd facts in 0, such as 5 × 7 = 30. Remind the student that an odd number times 5 ends in 5.
- Halving the wrong number in the half-of-10 strategy. Write both steps: 10 × 7 = 70, and half of 70 is 35.
What to practice next
Move to the 10 times table, then use the 5s and 10s together to learn the 6s and 9s.
Frequently asked questions
Why is the 5 times table easy?
The answers follow a clear pattern. They end in 5 or 0, and they match counting by 5s.
How do you multiply by 5 quickly?
Multiply by 10 and take half. 5 × 6 is half of 60, which is 30.
Is this worksheet free to print for a class?
Yes. You can print as many copies as your class needs.
